The Wool Market & DIY School is the reality of years of dreaming, planning – and over the past year – executing our vision of bringing a creative, experience-based retail space to Downtown Hutchinson. We’re excited to welcome YOU to the community that we love!
Our business is multi-faceted. You’ll find a retail space with products for knitters, crocheters, spinners, and more. We’re also big fans of Kansas and Kansas artisans and offer unique Kansas gifts. Behind the retail area, our technical learning center offers the opportunity to be a group video presentation, or a traditional face-to-face student and teacher class. We’ve also got sewing machines, Cricut makers, and other DIY equipment for rent by the hour.
The south portion of our building is a flexible classroom space that can be easily converted to event or conference space. An adjacent room has a commercial sink for “wet” crafts. The south portion also includes a fun lounge area with free WIFI and unique, non-alcoholic beverages. It’s a great place to learn or just hang out.
We welcome everyone, regardless of skill level or age. Our goal is to offer you a great retail and/or classroom experience with each visit. We know you can learn new things on your own through online videos but we believe there’s real value in having knowledgeable staff and instructors right there, offering advice and guidance when you need in an atmosphere that supports your creative drive.
From our earliest day, The Wool Market & DIY School has been about building a creative community. We’d love for you to be a part of it. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from across town, around Kansas, and places beyond! If you’re not from around here but would like to be a part of our community, you’re in luck! Our next phase of development includes online retail shopping in addition to our brick and mortar location at 420 N Main in Hutchinson.
Soon we will be offering online retail shopping in addition to our store at 420 N Main in Hutchinson.
We look forward meeting AND learning with you! Remember, “Handmade Starts Here!”
